Creating a packaging system which not only compliments the product, but also compliments a small team in all areas of a growing business. The Orbitkey packaging system was a result of wanting to create something unique, extremely compact, strong, simple, sustainable and flexible allowing for multiple SKU’s, short-run collaborations and bespoke orders. It was important to keep the system lean, highly flexible, simple to manufacture and sustain - making sure it created positive customer experiences, whilst maintaining high levels of support throughout all areas of the growing company.

The core feature of the packaging structure is the 3/4 sleeve layout, this layout created a unique iconography for the packaging that could showcase the material and colour options of the product without printing them directly on the packaging. This draws the customer in to directly interact with the unique characteristics of each product variation and frees up large MOQ and QC requirements and allows the packaging to be used across multiple SKU’s with just a simple barcode change.

This 3/4 sleeve provided a unique customer interaction point, product visual and differentiated the packaging when placed in a retail setting. The system became an important part of the mechanics of the product and its environments, providing vital support through both the internal and external touch points of the business.
